What is APPEsat?
APPEsat capsules contain a natural seaweed alginate that works by expanding in the stomach, moving around and stimulating receptors in the stomach wall, which send a signal to the brain informing it that the stomach is full – helping you eat less.
How does APPEsat work?
APPEsat works by stimulating receptors in the stomach wall, which send a signal to the brain informing it that the stomach is full. This increased sense of ‘satiation’ can help reduce the amount of food that people want to eat. This makes it easier for people to control their portion sizes and adapt their eating behaviour over time, which when combined with regular exercise and sensible food choices, results in sustainable weight loss.
What evidence is there that APPEsat is effective?
There have been three placebo-controlled, randomised, double-blind clinical studies that have demonstrated the efficacy of APPEsat. These studies have found that:
• People taking APPEsat felt up to four times more satisfied with the food they had eaten, compared to those who hadn’t (46 subjects in study)
• Overweight people on a calorie-controlled diet achieved significant weight loss at 12 weeks, compared to those on a calorie-controlled diet alone (139 subjects in study)
• Over three days, 25 patients left over half a kilogram of food between them after taking APPEsat, with accompanying reductions in their calorie intake
How should APPEsat be used?
APPEsat comes in capsule format and should be taken at least 30 minutes before each meal. Depending on the level of appetite, take 2 or 3 capsules one hour with at least 250ml of water. It is not a meal replacement.
What are the side effects?
The clinical studies show that the product is well tolerated. It has a good, established safety profile when taken in amounts up to 990mg with water daily. APPEsat contains no artificial ingredients, flavours or preservatives and is free from gluten, nuts and shellfish.
